THE REQUIREMENT
In addition to perfectly integrated Siemens components, customers of the process control system SIMATIC PCS neo also often use devices of other manufacturers to meet their specific requirements.
To use the specific functionalities of these third-party devices, such as diagnostics or parameters, the devices must be able to be integrated into the control system so that they are as system-compliant as possible. A concrete example: Industrial drive units with PROFIdrive profile are to be integrated into the production facilities of the chemical company Miltitz Aromatics. Miltitz specializes in the chemical synthesis of fragrance and flavor substances.

THE SOLUTION
With our many years of experience, including as a PCS 7 add-on partner and PCS neo product partner, we supplied a device-specific integration package. With the help of this package, the third-party devices were seamlessly integrated into the customer’s PCS neo system.
The standardized PROFIdrive profile, which is supported by most industrial drive systems, also assists in the integration process. The system engineering was executed by established system integrator Actemium.
