PROFINET Integration: PROFIdrive support for new Renesas MPU MORE DRIVE FOR PROFINET

REQUIREMENT

Renesas is a world-leading electronics manufacturer for industrial, automotive, and consumer applications. Its portfolio includes RZ/T2 and RZ/N series, innovative MPU specialized for industrial drive and industrial network applications. To ease the integration of RZ/T2 and RZ/N2 series MPU easier for its customers, Renesas has a wide range of sample applications for various industrial communication interfaces. The PROFINET standard with the PROFIdrive drive profile plays a major role here, especially for drive manufacturers.

THE SOLUTION

Renesas is expanding line up of the solution for RZ/T2 and RZ/N2 series with support from Codewerk: Now they also contain a sample application for PROFIdrive application classes 1 and 4. This application enables drive manufacturers to easily integrate PROFIdrive into their devices. The sample application contains a PROFIdrive-compliant drive simulation which only needs to be adapted to the real drive. One highlight is the integration of isochronous application mode and PROFINET Conformance Class C, which enables isochronous communication via PROFINET IRT. The sample application passes all PROFIdrive certification tests using the official certification tool from PROFIBUS user organization PNO/PI.
